mbira (Kalimba) Lessons
I teach African music workshops on the mbira nyunga nyunga (kalimba) - a beautiful instrument with a sound that has traditionally often been used as a spiritual pathway for guidance and healing.
My mbira workshops typically include singing and are a lovely way to relax through music. I teach using the Mbira Nyunga Nyunga from Zimbabwe, which is sometimes also called Kalimba or Karimba, and workshops can be private or delivered to groups of up to 12 participants. My workshops are open to all ages and require no previous musical experience or formal training.
For anyone interested in group lessons, I run a weekly group workshop in Hackney at St Peter’s Community Centre in London (UK) on Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30. It’s £10 per person, and I provide the mbiras as well. I’m equally happy to travel out to give private individual or group lessons.
